Annabel is an award-winning documentary filmmaker known for her creative social media projects. She he co-directed the critically acclaimed film 9500 Liberty(2010) about America’s culture war over immigration and is currently finishing her second feature film Story of America about historical revisionism and the political divide in America featuring the civil rights leader Rev William Barber. She has contributed to hundreds of short videos on YouTube and more recently, dozens of act.tv livecasts of political events. In addition to creating content, she is an expert in growing online communities.
She is the founder of nonprofit Coffee Party USA which grew out of viral response to the emergence of the Tea Party. It is a community that promotes civil dialogue and democratic reforms. Her passion is using dialogue and storytelling as tools for advancing social change.
She has founded several Facebook communities, including The Coffee Party, The Talk on Main St, Bridge the Divide, Libyans and Americans United for Friendship & Peace, America Welcomes Refugees
She has made numerous news appearances and her writings have been published in the Washington Post and CNN. She studied philosophy at Boston University as an undergraduate and did graduate work in political theory at Oxford University as a Marshall Scholar.
