Blanca Bertrand was born in Mexico City and migrated to the United States when she was 12 years old. She and her family struggled to adjust to their new life. Blanca graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor of arts in education with an emphasis in teaching English as a second language. She loved working with children and helping immigrant families. Blanca’s focus was on families in poverty or who had experienced abuse and trauma.
Blanca saw the effects of trauma in those families and their need for therapeutic services. She then went on to receive her masters of science in family and marriage therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary. After graduating, Blanca pursued specialized training in treating child trauma. She received over 100 hours of trauma training for children and families. Blanca is trained in EMDR therapy, sensorimotor psychotherapy, and play therapy. She has traveled to Mexico to train caregivers of traumatized children.
Blanca lives with her husband and three children in sunny Arizona. She and her husband started a church in Gilbert, Arizona twelve years ago with an emphasis in safe and healthy spiritual community and social justice service to the community.
