We started Facing Humanity because we believe that dehumanization, disinformation, and disconnection are at the core of our nation’s political and moral crisis.
So, how do we begin to repair this?
We believe meeting face to face, in person and/or through video calls, will help us communicate with each other more meaningfully and connect at a deeper level.
We plan to go on an RV road trip in September to begin a conversation with fellow Americans about what is actually happening at the border by including the voices, faces, and stories of the people who are crossing.
It won’t stop with conversations with migrants. So many of us feel marginalized and unheard right now. We hope to figure out a way for all of us to be heard and hear one another, face-to-face.
“We are part of the whole which we call the universe, but it is an optical delusion of our mind that we think we are separate. This separateness is like a prison for us. Our job is to widen the circle of our compassion so we feel connected with all people and situations.” — Albert Einstein
